Dream Girl 2 Movie Review: Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Pandey’s film ‘Dreamgirl’ has been released in cinema halls today. After stars like Govinda, Kamal Haasan, Ayushmann is included in the list of actors who have appeared so well with a female character in their entire film. In the first film where Ayushmann was seen doing most of the work with his velvety and heart winning voice, but this time Pooja is seen doing such wonders with her style that what to say. However, if the story is not strong in a film with great performance, then it can also be divided. Director Raj Shandils has shown the story of loneliness of people in the style of comedy in his first ‘Dreamgirl’. But will Dreamgirl 2 also prove to be a tremendous ride of laughter, let me tell you.
What does the story say: The story of Dreamgirls 2 starts from Agra this time, in which Karma Kumar Mathurawale (Ayushmann Khurrana) lives with his father. Both of them are badly in debt because they have taken a lot of loan but have no means to repay it. Karma dances and sings in Jagrata and now his girlfriend is Pari (Ananya Pandey). Pari herself is a lawyer and loves Karma, but Pari’s father puts conditions like a house, bank balance of 10-12 lakhs and a good job to make Karma his son-in-law. To fulfill this condition of his future father-in-law, Karam searches for a job, but ultimately he has to earn money by posing as a girl. How long will this lie of Karam last and how in the midst of all this will he be able to get the girl of his life whom he loves very much. This has to be seen.

What you want to read, let me tell you in advance that yes, ‘Dreamgirl 2’ is as fun and interesting one-liner as the previous one. It is possible, on some occasions, this film may make you laugh more than the first film. But this time there is a lot of loophole in the story. There is nothing like surprise in the story, because the whole world is crazy about Pooja, even in the first film and now in the second film as well. Nothing new or different. Again and again it seems that apart from Pooja i.e. Ayushman, every person in the whole story is an idiot who does not understand anything.
Where did Ananya Pandey come from in Desi Kahaani?
Ayushman is doing so much to get the love, that intensity of love is not visible with Ananya’s character. In the film, you will see Ayushmann more than Ananya with his Punjabi friend Smiley i.e. Manjot Singh. In one scene, Ananya is giving her boyfriend an idea to earn millions by selling her very childish paintings and Karma’s friend Smiley makes fun of it. In this scene, Ananya is looking like such a stupid girl, who does not even understand that she is being made fun of. On the other hand, Ananya has been shown to be a lawyer by profession. Ananya’s character has proved to be the most Miss-Fit in the entire film. I think it is the director’s fault more than Ananya’s because this is the character after all, won’t you be able to understand. Neither Ananya has got screen space nor is she fitting anywhere in this desi story.
Ananya Pandey has been seen romancing with Ayushmann this time.
Karma is worship for Ayushman…
The story of Dreamgirl 2 is of Pooja turned Ayushmann and Ayushmann has once again proved from this film that how complete justice is done to him by getting into his character. At the very beginning of the film, he dances in a bar as Pooja. Believe me, the elegance of a girl, her dancing moves with which Ayushmann has performed as Pooja, will surprise you.
The secret of victory and the style of Seema
Many old characters of the first film have been brought in a new style. Rajpal Yadav and Seema Pahwa are the new entry in the film this time and what a wonderful entry they have taken. Interestingly, after becoming Ayushmann’s mother-in-law in some films and his mother in one film, Seema in the character of Jumani will be seen trying to romance Ayushmann. As an artist, it is the victory of her acting that she is very convincing in all these characters.
The first half of the story is very funny and entertaining. The scenes between Anu Kapoor and Ayushmann have become very funny. In the second film too, there is an army of many supporting actors and all of them have put their best foot forward in the film. Vijay Raj, Seema Pahwa and Anu Kapoor have also been seen shining separately in this army. At the same time, in the second half, things seem to drag a bit. The climax has disappointed me the most. In the previous film, there was a hidden message like people lying alone in the crowd need someone for love, but in this film, Karam aka Pooja tells everyone the importance of relationships, but it does not prove to be that effective. Also, the weakest link of the film is Ananya Pandey who does not seem to fit anywhere in this environment of Agra.
In the film, Vijay plays Seema’s husband, who is about to divorce her.
What is HIT: The brilliant writing and great acting of the film makes it a fun entertainer, which you will enjoy with friends and family. Many such moments will come when you will laugh out loud. Apart from this, excellent acting will not let you feel boredom anywhere in this story.
WHAT HAPPENED MISS: This time in the film, you may feel a bit more confused. Also, in the climax, you will not see that power, which can cover the laughter right in the story so far. Also, Ananya has not proved to be quite fit in this environment.

Dream Girl 2 is a film of Ayushmann Khurrana and many supporting actors present in the film, who have taken up the entire responsibility of making them laugh. The dialogues of the film will make you laugh a lot, but you may find many things in the story problematic. Dream Girl 2 is a theater film, which you can enjoy with your friends and family in the cinema hall itself. 2.5 stars to this film from my side.
